The Testa di Moro Pouf h 60 cm, Blue and Orange Decoration is one of the most original and extraordinary pieces in the entire Ceramiche Sofia production: an art ceramic sculpture in the shape of a male Testa di Moro (Sicilian Moor's Head) which, thanks to its size and load-bearing structure, becomes a functional piece of furniture to sit on, lean on and live with. Made entirely of Caltagirone ceramic and decorated with the classic blue and orange contrast of Sicilian ceramic tradition, it is functional furniture and a work of art at the same time, a piece that puts Sicilian ceramics literally at the centre of the room.
The Testa di Moro Pouf comes from an idea that Ceramiche Sofia pursues with courage: bringing the handmade ceramics of Caltagirone into functional furniture, crossing the line between decorative art and liveable design. The result is an exceptional piece of furniture for those who want to live with art, not just display it.
